  • Hi @liamsurreyit,

    Job categories are a type of taxonomy you can add to the Job Posts on your website. By default job categories are disabled. You can enable them by selecting the Enable listing categories option on

    _WordPress Admin > Job Listings > Settings > Job Listings_ page.

    Once job categories are enabled you can find the category slug from _WordPress Admin > Job Listings >Job categories_ page.

    Thanks for your help. Could you explain the difference between Types and Categories – I’m not sure when it is appropriate to use either one?

    @liamsurreyit
    types are like fulltime, parttime etc.
    Categories are like development, design etc.

    Both Categories & Job Types are regular WordPress Taxonomies that you can use to classify and organize the job listings on your website.

    A taxonomy within WordPress is a way of grouping posts together based on a select number of relationships.

    Here are some examples on what you can assign to each.

    Job Types can be Full Time, Part Time, Internship, etc
    Job Categories can be Managers, Technicians, Sales Workers, etc

    another option:the smyles search and filtering plugin has this feature out of the box: your url will get updated based on the search performed by the user.
