That sounds like you’re new to EM. ??
The default Events List (generated at the spot of CONTENTS in your WP post) does not allow you to filter on categories, unfortunately. But if you are using the shortcode [events_list] instead, you can completely customize it to your needs. ??
To prevent EM from overwriting the Event Page content when you start using the shortcode, go to Events > Settings > Pages > Event List/Archives > Events page and select [No Events Page].
Then in your WP Post, you can replace “CONTENTS” with something like:
[events_list scope=”future” pagination=”1″ category=”-12″]
That will show the Events list with the markup in your EM settings, enable pagination after the limit you set in Events > Settings > Pages > Event List/Archives > Event List Limits.
The minus in front of the Events Category ID means “exclude”. ??
