I have inherited a website with Filter everything on it. We are using Easy Digital Downloads and want to filter them all.

I have set up filters for each parent download category and it’s sub categories. I also set up a filter for all categories using hierarchical display.

The problem I have is that I can only check one box at a time. We want the user to be able to check multiple boxes and add them to their filter. For example, they could check Wood and Concrete or Concrete and Foundations and both filters would be applied.

Right now I check one box and the page refreshes with that filter on and if I check another box, the page refreshes and the first box is deselected while with the second box. We want both boxes to remain selected.

    Am I missing a setting?

Also, I would love it if we didn’t have to refresh the page.

Here is my All Download Categories setting…

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @inventivewebdesign

Thank you for your interest in the Filter Everything plugin.

By reviewing the page, it seems that you have already fixed the issue with enabling the “Apply Button” mode.

Please note that on this forum we provide only support for the Free version. Kindly submit your requests in the comments section of the website from where you have purchased the plugin if you will have any other questions.

Hi Victor, I did add the apply button to see if it would work but it still only lets me pick one checkbox. Could it be because I have multiple filters on the page? Is there another setting?

We did recently move the site’s server (without changing the domain name). Not sure if that could affect the license or if this is even a license problem.

I didn’t purchase the plugin, I inherited the site with the plugin installed and don’t have access to the pro plugin site. We’ve requested access from the previous developer but haven’t gotten a response. The site launches in a week. If you could help here it would be much appreciated.

    Hi @inventivewebdesign

Yes, if you turn on the “Apply button” mode and check each filter term, it will update the status of all the terms and update their URL, we are planning to add the ability to turn off this type of update, so there will be an option to select the needed filters and then hit apply. But that will not happen this year for sure.

Are you saying that there is no way to select more than one item in our checkbox enabled filter list? That seems like a very inefficient filter.

Please look at our site: https://dtllibrary.com/all-downloads/

Under All Download Categories on the top left, if I open up Main Material and select Concrete and then open up Type of Detail and select Foundation it only allows for one checkbox to be selected. It DOES NOT check both boxes.

It works more like a radio button than a checkbox. I should be able to check more than one box. It doesn’t matter if I have the Apply button activated or not, I can only check one box at a time.

Please let me know if this is not an option with your filtering system right now or if I am doing something wrong.

If I go to your website and try the demo I can check multiple boxes without a problem: https://demo.filtereverything.pro/product-category/clothing/women/color-black/brand-hm/size-m-or-xxs/c-kind-dress/?max_price=100

    Hi?@inventivewebdesign

Oh now we see the issue. Here’s what to do, delete all of the filters, and clean the trash as well. Then create a new filter and place one “Apply Button” filter on the page. Perhaps this is a conflict that you have both filters with the apply button and without on the page.

    I have this page: https://dtllibrary.com/all-downloads-new/

The only filter I have here is the one with the Apply button and it is created by a shortcode [fe_widget id="10938"]

It still only allows for 1 checkbox at a time. It is for the same screenshot in my original post but with Apply box checked. Is there something that I am still missing?

Did you want me to delete all of the filters I created the Filter Sets area on the backend and not just on this page?

Wait a second you have a PRO version, and you do not have access to the account. Can you write from your account in general in the place where we provide the PRO support? Because there’s not much we can do without checking it ourselves.

As I said before, I inherited this site with the plugin and don’t have access to the pro area because the previous developer bought the license and hasn’t given us access. I disabled the pro plugin and it still doesn’t work.

    Can you still help?

    Hi @inventivewebdesign

We suggest deactivating all plugins and testing the site, alongside removing any custom code. Additionally, it may be beneficial to switch to the default 2021 theme. In order to find the root of the issue.

    Best Regards – Victor
