    5 years ago, there was a thread here, that asks if filtering by category is needed.

    Unfortunately, this is closed now.
    So I open this new thread now.
    Because there is no possibility to filter by locations/stages/rooms, it would be nice to have that feature.
    And until now the event categories can be assigned to the events but, as far as I can see, they do nothing.
    Would be great if we could use them for our stages / rooms.

    Sorry for such a late response. 

    Yes, you’re right. At this moment there’s no plugin functionality that allows you to filter your events by created categories, unfortunately. 

    However, categories can be used to display different timetables that display events of assigned categories. This allows you to use the previously provided workaround where we suggested using some third-party block or widget with tabs. Like in our free Getwid plugin.
