In version 3 you can remove rating widget from posts in specific categories like this:

add_filter( 'rmp_display_rating_widget', 'blazzdev_show_rating_widget' );

function blazzdev_show_rating_widget() {
  if( in_category( 'uncategorized' ) ) { // category slug
    return false;
  }
  return true;
}
