I’m using the slideshow feature with a filmstrip. What I would like, is that clicking on a thumbnail in the filmstrip opens that image in the slideshow. I thought I had this working, but it doesn’t work anymore, not even after a restore to default settings. I cannot find any setting that makes clickable links of the thumbs. Am I missing something?

Table VI-B6: Film linktype to slideshow window should do it.

If not: clear any sever side cache.

If still not: clear your browser cache.

If even now still not: Supply me a link to a pge with the slideshow on it and i will look inside.

    Hi Jacob,

    – setting was already set to slideshow window
    – no caching plugins in use
    – cleared browser cache
    – still no go

Strange thing is, when I was testing and troubleshooting today, it sometimes worked. But when I went to another page with another slideshow it stopped working again. Also when I went back to the first page/slideshow it didnt work anymore. I’ve checked Firebug for any errors but can’t find any. I’ve also tried disabling all other plugins and javascripts, but nothing has helped.

You can see the page here: SLAW
Please let me know when you’ve finished looking, as the website is not supposed to be publicly available yet. If you need backend access, I can supply you with an account.
    Thank you for your help!

Are you aware of the fact that this ‘on click film image go to this slide’ feature only works when the slideshow is NOT running?

    I am now :-).

Is there no way to use the filmstrip as navigation while the slideshow is running? I assumed this would be the case because it is so with most slideshow plugins.

I will see what i can do, but it is much more complex than it looks…

Actually, it looks very complex, I’ve never seen a plugin with so many possible settings, impressive!

I just discussed it with my client, and we both find the filmstrip functionality combined with a running slideshow very confusing. It would make a lot more sense to us if, while the slideshow is running, the filmstrip could be used as navigation, not as stop/start.

Thank you for looking into it, I hope we can find a solution!

I got it running! ( — do i hear applause ?? — ) The double click start/stop still will be there.

You’re a life saver, thank you very much!!!

I’ve posted a nice Twitter message to thank you for your quick help and advertize your great plugin!

    Hi Jacob,

is it also possible to open the slide through clicking on a thumbnail in thew filmstrip when the content is displayed as thumbnails?

    This is the site: https://its-our-world.com/wordpress/?page_id=20.
The needed functionality is that the single picture opens above when it is clicked on in the filmstrip below.

The filmstrip is wppa type=”filmonly”, the upper part is wppa type=”content”.

    Thank you!

No, there is no communication between separate shortcodes possible.

You can try Lightbox: Select lightbox overlay in Table VI-B6.

It looks like Table I-C1 ( thumbnail size ) is set to 200 and Table I-C3 ( thumbnial frame width ) is set to 150. The framewidth should not be smaller than the thumbnail size.

    Hi Jacob,

thank you for your reply! I saw it only by accident, since I didn’t get a message from wp.

Do you see a good way of making that possible?

I need a filmstrip on every site, but only the gallery and slides on one site. If you click on a picture in the filmstrip, you should get to the slide of this picture in the gallery. The client’s old site had that feature in ponygallery.

I know PHP, and could alter the code. I thought about putting wppa on every site, but only have the filmstrip visible (CSS display: none for the slide). Then have a PHP switch on top of each site, that redirects to the slide in the gallery on the gallery website (by using GET variables), if there is a picture number in the URL. But that is a pretty complicated way to do it.

    Any input would be appreciated!

Thank you also for the input about the thumbnail sizes! It’s corrected.

    Any suggestions?
