Filling the first and last name fields in the user profile – BUG?

Users are left as is. We don’t want to update existing users as it could overwrite good data. E.g. if I was checking out with my partners billing card.

^ this only kicks in for NEW users.

It does not work for new users . The first and last name fields are empty . The name and last name fields in billing and shipping addreess are properly compiled .

If the customer does not register before, but makes recording the time of purchase, then the name and surname of the user profile fields are populated.

^ new user, as I said.

If they register before checkout, they are not new.

No, as I mentioned this could cause issues for other users. If you need it, it would have to be done as a customisation.
