  • Your FTP login will be whatever was set up with your host – are you using CPanel for example? You can create/edit FTP users there

    Hi @churchinchicago,

The issue you’re experiencing is likely because FileZilla requires a different set of credentials than your WordPress login. FileZilla connects to your site’s server, so it needs the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) credentials, which are different from your WordPress login.

The FTP credentials typically consist of a server (or hostname), a username, and a password. You may have received these from your hosting provider when you set up your account. If you don’t have these details, please contact your hosting provider, and they should be able to assist you further.

I hope this clarifies your concern. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks to seank123 and Shameem! I was able to resolve the issue by going to my Dreamhost account, finding the FTP ID and creating a new password. Now Filezilla accesses the website just fine.

    Hi @churchinchicago,

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.
