My site is crashing because it is taking up too much server space. My backups are posting both on Dropbox as well as on the server. I have seen the instructions to check Delete Local Backup and I do have that set. However, it is still storing copies on the server.

Is there any guidance for how to handle this? Thanks! JJ

    Hi,

It is possible that the backup is failing to complete successfully. UpdraftPlus will only delete the backup once the backup has been successfully sent to your remote storage.

To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the restoration log only?
You can find this log in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory of your site via FTP.
Please copy the contents into an online tool (such as https://pastebin.com/ ) and paste the link here.

    Best Wishes,

    Hi there,

So my issue has migrated to a new problem. My site crashed the server during backup b/c I ran out of server space when it was trying to back up. I have to restore my site from backup. I could not access my old site at all, so I had to set up a new parallel version of my site. I uploaded updraft, loaded my latest backup, and tried to run it. However, when it got to the uploads section I got an Internal server error and it stopped running.

The entire site is now inaccessible so I could not get the log in information directly through Updraft but I was able to copy it from the restore process. Here is the link to the log: https://pastebin.com/hpn67BmF

Can someone help me figure out what is going on and why it is isn’t working for the restore? Thanks, Julie

    Hi,

A ‘500 Internal Server error’ is a generic error code that indicates that ‘something’ has gone wrong on the server itself.

You could contact your hosts/server admin and ask them to check the PHP error logs. The logs should contain further information on the exact error that is occurring.

    Regards,
    Bryle
