Files not backing up on scheduled backups

  • Hello,
    I have set the Files backup schedule to be Fortnightly and retaining 2 backups and there is currently only one backup of the files.

    The next scheduled date was yesterday but the files backup is was not created. The same thing happened 2 weeks ago.

    The database backup has been set to daily with 30 backups and this works OK.

    The issue seems to be only with the files backup.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

    Hi Bharat,

    Please could you install the free WP Crontrol plugin, then go to Tools->Cron Events?
    On that page will be a list of scheduled events. You should be able to find two from UpdraftPlus:

    • updraft_backup_database
    • updraft_backup

    Are both these present?

    Neither are in the list and I have never seen or deleted such variables without WP Control.

    What do you suggest?

    Apologies for the delay.

    Please could you try setting the schedule to Manual, save your settings, then reset the desired schedule and save again?
    Do the two scheduled tasks appear in WP Crontrol?

    Yes, they appear now.

    Does that mean the two scheduled backups should not work?

    Also, if these setting should be as they are now, do you know why they were not previously there or why they had disappeared?

    Hi,

    The scheduled backups should now run.

    It is possible that there was a glitch when the setting were first saved.

    Please could you monitor the backups, and let us know if they do not run?

    After about a month, the backups of the files and database seem to be generated as they should.
