I uploaded a very large video via FTP to the /wp-content/uploads/2011/03 folder but it is not visible in the “Local Video” list. Videos added via the “Upload Video” tab show up fine in the “Local Video” list. How can I add files FTP’d to the same location so the show up in the “Local Video” list???????????

This is just a shot in the dark, but this plugin Add From Server seems to have a pretty good compatibility report for 3.1. It also appears to do what you need. Some careful reading may be in order before you try it your self… However; I just installed the plugin on a test installation of 3.1. where I frequently upload large video files to a directory I created in root named “video”. I installed the plugin, navigated to: Dashboard > Media > Add From Server, and then navigated to my “video” directory and successfully imported a video into my media library using the plugin. It then showed in my media library.

    Your mileage may vary. ??
