I never found the files…. I thought for a time that most of the relevant stuff would be in post.php, but when it wasn’t, I just worked out a way to accomodate starting all my users at level 2 (which is an option in the options menu – “allow new users to publish posts”). Thanks for the help anyway, Michael.
