Files aren't Writable

  • I have been experiencing trouble trying to update WP, install new plugins, and edit my theme with WP telling me the files aren’t writable. However, I’ve checked myself, then called my hosting company multiple times to confirm, and have been told that all the necessary files are writable. I have no idea what would cause this – I hadn’t changed anything in WP or on my hosting account or the FTP manager and never had any problems until about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Now I can’t install or change anything.
