    Dear Community,

Hi there. I upgraded to 3.5.1, but my pages won’t load. I see that the pages still exist when I log into dashboard, but visitors to the site see a default page from bluehost rather than my site

Site was working yesterday. I am guessing that my upgrade to 3.5.1 is causing this.

    Theme is debut by kwight.

When I try to preview this theme or other installed themes, I see nothing.

I am a first-time poster. I hope that I have not asked a question that has been answered elsewhere already. I am not much of a computer guy, so I am not sure where to even begin when it comes to troubleshooting this issue.

If you can help, thanks in advance.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

The default Bluehost page suggests something has happened to your index.php or something… But absolutely start with Esmi’s solutions, in that order, to narrow it down.

    Thank you kindly, Esmi.

I have reset the plugins folder to no avail.

I will attend to the selective WP re-upload ASAP.

    Thanks for your help.

Esmi and kwight – these things worked. I am up and running again. Thank you for your courteous and prompt help. What a great community!
