In /popup-builder/public/svg, there are files (add, delet, Edit, settings, upload, view, voice) that contain an em-dash, which doesn’t fit into ASCII.

Our FTP system represents these as “a” (actual Ctrl+V: a??), and it’s impossible to delete them without connecting via SSH and removing manually.

These also don’t get downloaded when you make a manual copy of the website.

    FTP log:

    Status: Deleting "/www/public/wp-content/plugins/popup-builder/public/svg/add a?? 1.svg"
    Command:	DELE add a?? 1.svg
Response: 550 add ?¢???? 1.svg: No such file or directory

  • Dear @ellmanncreative ,

Thanks for reaching out and reporting.

We have checked the report with our tech team and they confirmed, that the only way to delete those files, is to do that manually.

If there is anything else you would like to know, please, get back to us.

    Best,

Yes, I would like to know that you’re going to fix those filenames! ??

I didn’t report it to get a pat on the head, you know. ??

lol, we also “would like to know anything else“. In fact we would like to know if these files will get fixed automatically with an update of this plugin.

We don’t have SSH access and it is not acceptable for us to have files in dozens of our WordPress installations that use this plugin which cannot be deleted and especially downloaded via FTP.

It is unbelievable that the only thing the support says here is “Yo – delete it manually. Bye.”. This indeed is a serious problem of this plugin that has to be solved with an update and nothing else.

Dear support, please tell us something relieving.

    Dear @ellmanncreative and @doffine ,

We are sorry for the confusion.

Removing the files manually is a temporary solution until we fix the issue with the plugin update.

Once we fix the issue, we will get back to you with the update.

    Thanks,
    Popup Builder Team
