File URL changed to Post URL on Update Post

  • When I use the Add Media button and add a file and select the File URL option to allow direct download of a file, all looks good in the HTML code. But when I press the Update Post button the HTML changes to post URL option.

    This sounds like a bug, as it looks like WordPress is trying to change the HTML before posting.

  • Just tested this on my 2.8.2 dev install and couldn’t replicate the problem. Perhaps one of your plugins is interfering?

    I’m having the same problem in 2.8.4. It is happening in visual mode as well. It is also happening if I change the URL via the link dialog. I would very much like to see a workaround for now and ultimately, a fix.

    My wordpress is installed on a sub folder, maybe that has something to do with it?
