• I’m having a conflict with validation when I have a file upload field on any form. When I remove this field, validation works perfectly. I’ve switched all other plugins off but this has no effect. I have this issue on several sites with different themes so there is no common ground there either.

Try switching to the default theme and deactivating all other plugins.

Thanks for getting back to me. In the original post I did mention turning all plugins off and the problem occurring across several domains with various themes, so these do not seem to be the issue.

However, I have done a fresh install of the latest WordPress on a temp url and only installed the Contact Form 7 plugin using the default theme. This setup should alleviate any possible conflicts.

I have created a form with only a file upload field on it. Originally I thought it was a validation conflict but it appears not, there is no validation on this form. If the file upload field is left empty the form just hangs on submission, if you attach a file it goes through ok.

The vanilla test site url is https://test-sg4.klickhosting4.co.uk

Me again. It appears to be a browser based issue. The failure occurs using Safari (v11.1 on macOS 10.12.6). Tried it on Chrome and Firefox on my Mac and Edge on a PC and they all work perfectly.
