File Upload Stopped by Extension

for some reason, on trying to upload new media to an individual blog within a Multi-Site install, I am getting that error message. To my knowledge, no file permissions, PHP version, etc. changed at all. The .htaccess tips I found via Google didn’t do anything, either. Currently fails on multiple image types, all of which appear to be allowed in the Multi-Site Network Admin page.
