• I’m wondering how to get around the iOS file selection limitation. Under normal circumstances, iOS only permits upload of photos/videos, or items already stored in iCloud.

To my knowledge there are procedures for accessing other files for upload to a website by using a specific web browser (iCab) and file browser on an iPhone. (I can’t test this myself, as I’m an Android user.)

Your plugin descriptions (here and for the Pro version) don’t make mention of limitations for iOS users, and surprisingly there aren’t any comments about it in the various comment/support threads that I could find, but a friend tested uploading for me and faced exactly the usual limitations in iOS.

    Hi,

the plugin itself does not have limitations. However the dialog box for selecting files is controlled by the web browser. So if Safari imposes limitations, they will also affect the plugin functionality.

I suppose that iCab uses special iOS procedures, as you mentioned, to overcome Safari limitations. It uses special iOS API and special permissions granted by the user. The plugin itself cannot implement these special procedures because it does not have access to the underlying iOS API.

You are right that I have never received any remarks about it in the past. Perhaps I need to mention it somewhere in the plugin’s support page.

A limitation that exists for mobile phones in general is that they can select only one file at a time (multiple files feature of the plugin does not work).

    Regards

    Nickolas
