    Wordpress 4.9.4
    PHP 7.2
    Memphis Documents Library 3.8.3

Can you please help. Have started to get the following error message with documents uploaded a few weeks ago:

Warning: filesize(): stat failed for xxx/htdocs/gbc/wp-content/uploads/mdocs/Dinnis_et_al_2013_C_KS_Bishopston-libre.pdf in xxx/htdocs/gbc/wp-content/plugins/memphis-documents-library/includes/mdocs-show-file-info-templates.php on line 91
    bytes

… yet file sizes are correctly displayed with more recently uploaded ones.

    Many thanks
    Steve

Lets first start with are the files that are showing the error still downloadable?

Interesting! They can be previewed but give the following error message when trying to download:
Memphis Documents Error: Dinnis_et_al_2013_C_KS_Bishopston-libre.pdf was not found, please contact the owner for assistance.

try going to the mdocs upload folder if you don’t know where that id goto mdocs dashboard then Options > Batch Upload > and look at the “FTP Method” it contains the location of the mdocs uploads folder.

Once you have located the folder check the permission of that folder and the parents of that folder. You may have a permissions issue.

    /gbc/wp-content/uploads/mdocs-ftp
    Permissions are 705.

When the files uploaded there and processed, I note they are transferred to:
    /gbc/wp-content/uploads/mdocs

It seems that the files went missing from there … but am not sure how at the moment. If I F’d the missing files here, I can now see the file sizes. Is this right?

Many thanks for your help with this. I have learnt a little more

Yes if the files are put back in this directory everything will work again.

Note that it does not work with all of them though

    explain all?

Ah, its OK. Figured it out. Its the PDF files with a ‘,’ in the name. If I remove the ‘,’ the file size becomes visible once more

Many thanks for guiding me through this
