I discovered that the high bandwidth usage on my sites with Nextgen Gallery was due to a 1.5M FontAwesome JavaScript file. After disabling it, I didn’t notice any visual differences on the site, which made me wonder what function that file actually serves. Whatever it’s doing, surely there’s a more efficient way to achieve it without loading a 1.5M file.
