file permissions error

    first of all, i must say thank you for a wonderful plugin.

    I been using the files module to fix the bad file permissions. 3 questions.

    1) i ran into an error when changing two file permissions that were stated bad, from 755 to 644. I tried to change but got this error:

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    – Error: File does not exist – <file link>
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    – Error: File permissions could not be updated to 644 for file: <file link> Please contact your hosting provider or a developer for assistance.
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    but the file is actually present and working.

    2) i changed the file permissions for a folder from 755 to 775. but then i am unable to change it back after it was successful.

    3) why are some files showing the ability to modify file permissions, but others are unable to.

    Here’s answers to two of your questions:

    I’m not sure why you would change a folder permissions from 0755 (secure) to 0775 (good), unless there was an issue or just testing the functionality. I am assuming that might be a typo and you meant the other way around. Regardless, you should be able to change the permissions of that folder back and forth between those two options as either option should be available for all folders.

    Try to change that folder’s permissions to the other value again and post the exact error it displays in the log.
