File Permission Issue After Moving to a New Host
-
Hi,
I recently moved one of my domains to a new web host. Let me try to make it short.
I copied all the files and pasted into the new host. Then I imported and exported the database. I changed the wp-config.php file to match the database configuration in the new host. Finally, I changed the nameservers. Everything went smoothly, with literally no down time!
Now, the issue is that I can not modify any files from WordPress backend. For example, if I change the permalink structure, I get a message “You should update your .htaccess now.” I set the permission to 775. Only 777 and manual editing through SSH or FTP works. I do not want to use 777 or SSH, everything I want to make a modification.
Did I miss anything while moving the files?
Any help would be appreciated!
Pothi.
