File of type is not allowed. ERROR

  • I have WordPress 1.2. It works great except for two parts… File Uploads and Comment Posting.
    File uploads always say “File of type is not allowed.” and the files I am uploading are within the size limit and have the extension .jpg. SO I’m really confused why it still says that.
    Comment’s do post but when someone posts a comment, it takes them to a blank white screen after submitting it. If you click back and go to the blog, the comment did go through though. That too has me really confused.
    Any ideas? THANKS!

    First part – try uploading a really small image ? File size problems have been reported to be that cause of this many times here.

    Same thing here about the comments ( I have installed the threaded comments hack, and I’m using Firefox 0.9). After posting one it stays in the blank page not reloading the entry.

    I tried a very small jpg file and it still gives me the error. Any more ideas??? I’m much more concerned about the images right now than the comments.

    i had the same problem with not being able to upload jpg files. my problem was the file was in upercase. so jpg is different than JPG.

    all my files are lower case, so it’s not a case sensitivity issue for me. Nobody has any further ideas? Could this be a problem in the SQL Database?
