I have what’s probably a very simple question, but I am new to WordPress and haven’t been able to find the answer.

I have installed Simple File List and would like to have it triggered from my top-level menu — i.e., I want a main menu item “Library” and have that take you directly to the file list. I don’t know how to embed the shortcode in the menu to make that work. Thanks!

Hi. You’ll want to create a page or post named Library and place the shortcode on that. Then put that page in your menu.

Yeah, I finally figured out that I needed the menu to link to a page that contained the shortcode. I had been trying to use the “Shortcode From Menu” plugin and finally grokked that was designed to display the shortcode results as a menu item, which is not what I wanted.

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for my ignorance. But I learn quickly. ??
