• Hi — I’m getting this error message: File is empty. Please upload something more substantial.

I’ve been going back and forth with my ISP — they claim my permissions levels are fine, and file upload is On —

I’m going crazy. It worked locally when I had MAMP installed, but I have consistently failed in getting my old blog entries moved over.

  • If you have an FTP program you can check the upload directory yourself in /wp-content/. It should be 755 (I hope that is right) so that you can upload to it. It has to be writable by the server. Most other files on your install will be 644 permissions and that will not allow uploads! Hope that helps!
