Hi, I’m using WP Staging and one of the things I need to test is changes to .htaccess. I was surprised to find that the .htaccess file was not copied to staging, rather it has some very basic default content.

I can copy this one file myself, but are there other files that are not copied that I should know about?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Good morning Jeff @jeffmcml

other files that are not copied per default are .gitgnore, web.config and *.log

This should not be relevant files.

When you copy over the .htaccess and you plan to activate permalinks on the staging site make sure to add the needed rewrite rule to the htaccess if permalinks are not going to work immediately.

    Please see the link below:

    Have a great Christmas time.
