I suspect it’s due to the host and will almost certainly go away when you move to hostgator.

    Thanks pippin for the reply

Sorry but i think you didnt answere my questions

why is it not work in all servers?

is there a way to fix the problem in forced method?

And you said it was due to the host can you simply explain why?

There are a lot of variables that come into play. Forced downloads fail on some hosts due to their particular configurations. One of the most common reasons is very, very low memory limits on the server. Since you’re on a free host, it’s likely that the amount of memory your site has available, is exceptionally low.

    hi pippin

    i read this edd article

    EDD_READ_FILE_MODE
When downloads are delivered to the user, the files are read using the PHP readfile() function, but because some hosts do not allow files to be ready via URL, this will occasionally fail. The EDD_READ_FILE_MODE constant is available for these scenarios. If a host does not allow readfile() to access files via URL, then define […]

is there a way or a code i can put to solve this problem?

    thanks

The EDD_READ_FILE_MODE constant is no longer used, as noted at the bottom of the documentation for it.

    You have several options:

    1. Use Redirect
    2. Use a service like Amazon S3 or Dropbox (we have extensions that integrate with both)
    3. Migrate to a better hosting company

i want to contact my web host but i don’t know what to say to them or how to explain the problem

can you help me with this one?

and is there a check list for choosing the correct web host for the edd forced method to work properly

    Thank you so much

You mentioned moving to Hostgator. I’d recommend you go ahead and do that. We have a lot of users using Hostgator without any issues.
