    Hello,

I really like the idea of the File Guard / Check feature, but there is one problem: We are using a caching plugin and therefore, for obvious reasons, the content of the cache folders change every day. Is there a way to exclude these folders from the check, so that I only get an e-mail, if really something changed and not every day?

    Hi,

You can do that with File Check. When you create the snapshot, there is a “Exclude the following files/folders” input field where you can enter a path or a part of it (the shorter, the better). If you missed it, delete the current snapshot and re-create one.

Regarding File Guard, there is no similar option. We are thinking about it, but the main challenge here is performance: this feature runs each time a PHP script is requested. Using an exclusion list could slow down a site. We’ll have to do a lot of benchmarks before we decide to include it or not in NinjaFirewall.

    Hi,

thanks for the very quick answer! Since the whole purpose of a caching plugin is performance, I rather skip the file guard feature than to slow down my site again. ?? Of course if you find a solution that would be great.

    Keep up the good work!
