    Hi Yoast,

We recently upgraded our hosting server and now I am no longer able to access my robots.txt file via the File Editor in Yoast tools. This is the message I get. “If you had a robots.txt file and it was editable, you could edit it from here.”

I know I can edit it via SFTP but having it easily accessible via Yoast is much better.

Any ideas why it’s not populating within Yoast?

    Thank You.

    Hi @saviynt1

This happens when the plugin does not have access to edit the file.

Please make sure that the file is writeable by checking it over FTP. If the robots.txt file is only writeable to the owner and you still get that error, you might need to change permissions on the file.

If you don’t know how to change permissions, please contact your web host for assistance.

    Hope this helps!
