file download – security warning

  • Running on localhost WordPress
    trying to Run InstantWP.exe getting pop-up
    File download – Security Warning
    Do you want to save the file, or find a program online to open it?

    I have several WordPress installations and I am getting the same error on every InstantWP.exe

    can someone please help – many thanks in advance

    This site is for my late son who passed 15 months ago, it needs to go live before his birthday so if anyone can help I would be eternally grateful

    I haven’t used InstantWP in ages (I have an over abundance of servers including one in the basement…) but an EXE shouldn’t do that.

    Have you considered trying a different local installation tool? It was a little heavy last time I tried but DesktopServer was very feature rich and the free version is very straight forward IMHO.
