• Hi guys

    First of all: great plugin.

I never experienced any issues so far, but now I got the first one (which is really weird).
So the full backup has been completed successfully according to the log file, but no matter if I want to download the files to my computer from the remote storge or the webserver directly, I always get a failed message in the browser when trying to download to file to my computer.

I already checked the PHP settings (7.0.x) and other parameters and reduced the split size to 200MB – no luck so far.

Any ideas what the issue could be?

    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

It is possible that the file you are trying to download is no longer available.

Please can you try to click on the “rescan remote/local storage” to refresh the backup list? Then attempt to download it again.

Alternatively, you can download the files directly on you remote storage.

    Hi Bryle

I made a fresh backup, so the file must be available in my opinion.
Also just clicked at “Rescan remote storage” and did the same for the local storage (webserver). The download still fails.

It’s really weird. I will probably just make a backup directly via FTP.
However, I never had such an issue so far. Wondering what it could be… Maybe related to the hoster?

    Best regards

    Hi Michael,

What is the exact error message your are getting? Are you able to send us a screenshot?
You can use an online tool like https://snag.gy or https://prnt.sc/ to upload the screenshot and paste the link here.

    Hi Bryle

I am getting the message “Download failed” in the browser’s download section directly. So the download of the backup file starts and then suddenly crashes. It is not directly “inside” the plugin. The file is there, I can also download it but as just mentioned, it is cancelled every time by the browser it seems.

The page/backup is quite big (around 1 GB) so maybe that causes some issues, I don’t know.

    Best,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    Apologies for the late reply.

Please ask your host/server admin if they find any error in the PHP error. The exact information of the error should be logged there.

    Regards,
    Bryle
