File change warnings in a number of sites

  • Hi, I awoke to ‘file change’ emails this morning from 4 separate websites I host for clients.

    Each email has no new or deleted files, but hundreds of modified files in /wp-admin/ and /wp-incudes/. The dates on them however are from months ago when each site was uploaded.

    I’m based in the UK, and my host is based in the UK too. Last night, British Summer Time ended, so all clocks go back an hour. Could this be the cause of the emails?

  • I ‘ve experienced the same issue on many sites. However I can’t notice any real changes on those files. Anybody else?

    Are you or your sites based in the UK?

    No but the time change of last night affects many countries I guess.. However is this the reason?

    Did you have a time change where your sites are hosted?

    I’m up to 8 sites now, all the same with thousands of files modified but none deleted or added. I also noticed some files that wouldn’t have been modified by an automatic WordPress security update, so it’s not that.

    Anyone else receiving these emails this morning?

    I have the same problem, no changes for last week, but a lot of sites sending me emails with changed files from 1 month to 1 year old

    Sorry, I forgot to tell my plugin version – from 4.4.18 to 4.4.20

    Same issue here on multiple combinations of WP+Plugin.

    Same issue here.
    Everyday the same email with many modified files (modified on Wednesday October 1st, 2014).
    Not UK based, by the way.
