• How do I figure out what my database is? I am really new to wordpress and have no idea.

  • You’ll have to contact your hosting company for the information on that. You need to have a MySQL database to use with WordPress.

    Definitely check with your hosting company and see if you have MySQL. If you don’t – see if it’s something you can have added into your hosting package – you have have to change plans or something.
    Usually when you sign on with a host you get some kind of standardized welcome letter that lists things like ftp login info, email account info, MySQL (if you have it), passwords and other pertinent info. Do you remember receiving anything like this?

    I am being hosted by sporkin-it.com. Since she decided to host me, I did not get any welcome letter.

    Ask her for the basic db info you need to fill up for your wp-config.php: username, password, and database name.

    Is their some kind of admin panel with account details there. ?
