• Hi, I’m getting the missing alt attribute image error in SEO tools, I observed that images with figcaption do not have alt attributes. Can you explain to me why figcaption and alt attribute doesn’t display together and explain how can I make figcaption and alt attribute display together?

  • Hey @hypasos! Here is a thread that might be helpful: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53157369/image-alt-text-not-displaying-on-wordpress

    Relevant part from the thread:

If you add a caption text directly when you insert the image (or when you edit it) in WordPress, WP automatically creates a <short code> that puts the image and the text into a figure element which contains both the image and the caption text ( inside the figcaption tag).

And if you don’t add a caption text in WP’s image edit box, the image is inserted without the figure tag, as a regular tag. Whatever the alt attribute be, it will not be displayed – it only serves for accessibility purposes or is displayed if the image is missing.

Let me know if it helps.
