Hello. I have been using this plugin for a few days and I have seen on multiple occasions the fields that I add to a block disappear when I hit the “Update” button to save my changes.

Rather frustrating to say the least. At first I was not able to track down the steps to reproduce the issue, but I think now I have the steps you can attempt to recreate the disappearing fields.

Seems to have to do with adding double quotation marks to the Field’s Instructions box.

    1. Create a new block (Block Lab > Add New)
    2. Give it a name, a keyword, and add some fields (leave the Instructions box empty).
    3. Publish the Block type. All is good.
    4. Edit one of your fields and add some text to the Instruction box (without quote marks).
    5. Update button to save changes. All is still good.
    6. Edit one of your fields and add a double quote mark ” or a set of double quote marks to the Instructions box.
    7. Update button to save changes. Now all my fields and keywords will be wiped out, disappear.
    8. Now have to completely rebuild the fields.
    9. Any thoughts on this issue? Can you add some validation against that Field Instructions box so this does not happen?

Hi @franktik2k3 –?thanks so much for reporting this! It was also reported on Github (was that you?) recently. I’ll be fixing this issue today, and releasing an updated in the next two days to address it.

@frantik2k3 Thanks again for reporting this issue. We’ve resolved it in the latest development version, and will release the fix in the next update.

Really nice plugin, however I am also experiencing a similar issue with the most recent release. I made 6 fields and after saving seems to have wiped 4 of them. I remade them and the same thing happened (I can’t recall if it was the same fields that were wiped or different ones. Probably should have kept track of that to help debugging).

Thanks for tackling this @lukecarbis. It was actually a co-worker of mine who submitted the report on the Github. We figured we would post in both areas to increase the visibility for other users who might be running into the same issue.

Looking forward the new release ??

Hi there! First of all, thanks for this great plugin, it its accellerating work with blocks geniously!

Unfortunately, I have the same problem stated above with the latest Plugin version 1.2.0. On updatig the release it happens very often that some fields (not all) are wiped out. I could not find any relation to any action that leads to this behavior.
