field size

Hi,
I would like to change the width of the form fields.
When I use the size attribute, it doesn’t have an effect at all.
Example [text* your-name size:20 maxlength:30]
When I view the source code of the generated page I see size=40.
Where is this size set?
Is this a stylesheet issue?
