fictitious users and spam articles posts

  • On a daily basis I am relegated to having to manually remove 8-10 pages of fake user registrations that are lodged on my sight in order to post spam article that are absolutely garbage. Can someone help me. Captcha and typical comment spam plugins aren’t cutting it.I just removed 8 pages of fake users and 10 articles from spammers registered amongst those fake users.

  • After I got tired of dealing with that, I unchecked “Anyone can register” and put up a note telling folks they could send us an e-mail to let us know they want to register.

    Are you already moderating registration or are you dealing with that after-the-fact? Whenever I do occasionally check “Anyone can register”, Theme My Login holds all applicants “Pending” for me until I can look at them and decide:
