• Great plugin and really powerful, but, after one year of using Sportspress I find some basic things missing.

Matchday is introduced, but its not possible to filter out events by matchday in event lists or group by matchday. Also its not possible to filter out events by matchday in admin interface. Also there is limited occurence of matchday. It should be possible to display it anywhere as other event data.

Its very odd that in event recap only performance is shown under stat and there is no actual stat metrics like G, GS, MPG, FG% , FT%, 3P%, RPG, APG,PG, BPG, PPG, EFF. Using player list, you can get players statistics for a league and season, but there is now way to get statistics for one particular game !? i consider that as a big shortcoming.

Its confusing that there is no way to define competition for Friendly matches, so you can’t display competition title in Scoreboard. Friendly matches could be parts of some events/competitions too.

Sometimes when changing competition or season for one event, all performance data for that event is lost so it would be very useful to have posibility to export event data (for just one game) to be able to reimport it again.

Finally, displaying player performance comparision for an event could be cleaner if there would be a way to suppress displaying performance or performance comparison or limit performance columns to those relevant or those that actually have some values entered.

I would like to now if any of those things are in Sportspress development roadmap?

    Cheers

    Hi Zdukenukem,

Thanks for your feedback. These are all very good points.

Please see my notes below. I’ve created some GitHub issues so we can track the progress of certain features.

Filter and group events by match day in event list
Absolutely! We are planning to integrate the match day feature more in the next update, including filtering and grouping events in event lists.

    Add auto-calculated match statistics
The current version is designed to track player performance in each event, then use those values to calculate individual statistics for each player using those values. This calculation is done with the sum of all events, so displaying them on each event page is tricky. That said, we’ll be looking into ways to do this in a future update.

Add ability to select a competition for friendly events
You’re right, a friendly event could be part of a competition so it makes sense to enable this.

    Results importer
Yes! We recently introduced a fixtures importer, and the next step is to have a results importer. This importer will be for one event at a time, in a way that lets you update an existing event.

Please feel free to post a comment on any of those issues ??

    Hi,

It seems to me that it is basically player list functionality with filter to limit calculations to one particular match. But you know better how your code work and its intricacies ??

    Results importer
Yes! We recently introduced a fixtures importer, and the next step is to have a results importer. This importer will be for one event at a time, in a way that lets you update an existing event.

Thats great news and it’ll help a lot.
I hope game exporter will be there as well because I spent to much time repeatedly entering game data ??
