    I have a few questions that I do not already see in the support feed. I would like to do a few different things to the front page of the Shell Lite template:

    1) I would like to make the main picture/text under the menu one slideshow (preferred) or single image without the text area. So, one full width sized slideshow or image.
    2) Since I would like the image/slideshow to be in its own row, can I move the social media icons and search to the footer?
    3) How can I make the footer a two or three column, either widget (preferred) or text area?

    I tried the customizr theme and they could do these things, but they couldn’t have the widgets on the home page, so I think this theme is better, but I just cannot figure out how to tweak these pieces. Thank you!

    They are no default options for things you want to change. I can give you directions where and how some of the changes can be done, but I’ll recommend you to use child theme for customization:

    For the Homepage featured image you will have to edit front-page.php and there to replace code that displays Featured image, Headline and Button with your code for Slideshow.

    For the Footer widgets, you have to edit footer.php, but keep in mind that most of changed will required some PHP coding knowledge.

    One more time: make sure to use child theme if you are doing changes to the theme files.

    Thank you! I found Custom Community and that (although it has different limitations) offered solutions to some of the basic needs.
