Ok, so I have my blog running now. I’m curious about memory and what uses the memory.

Do regular text posts take up memory on my host / server or only if I upload images into them? I’m wondering because I don’t wanna do a bunch of posts and then not be able to because I ran out of space.

Also, is it possible to transfer stats from my free blog to my hosted blog?

Are you actually asking about allocated disk space (the amount of disk space allocated to your hosting account by your webhost)? When you upload files or add images, these files reside on the disk in a folder. To see them, use an FTP client such as FileZilla or your host provided file manager…your host account should inform you how much disk space is allocated and how much is currently used.

Memory is the amount of RAM allocated by the server and can vary by host, depending on many things, but mostly how much you pay per period. Some hosts allow you to use varying techniques to up the amount of memory PHP can use.
