    Hello there.
I have the case on my site:
One superadmin had properly setup Site Kit on site. Google account connected and setup well as described. All things great, plugin works i see analytics.
There is two more admins (no superadmin) and they must have acces for data from analytics. They registered with site email ([email protected]). And when they want to see and analize data from plugin they receive message “Site Kit has already been configured by another admin … ” . So they dont have acces for analytics. Also there is no possibility to add [email protected] to analytics account (only @gmail.com). So what i suppose to do for reach neded result: i want all users with admin previligies but without @gmail.com email must see and analyse data from plugin ?

Because now plugin works for every admin individually, that is bad. Each time other admin want to see and analyze data he must reconnect plugin to analytics.

  • Hi,

Thanks for opening a support ticket.

First of all other admin users can setup Site Kit but they don’t need to connect the modules (ie. Search Console and Analytics) if they are already fully connected. They just need access to both properties, and the administrator user who set these up needs to provide access at service level. The administrator would need to know their email address to provide access. An @gmail account is not necessarily needed, just an email associated with a Google account.

Let us know if you still need help with this.

There is three questions to full clear understanding:

    1. So basically theres situation that anyway any email must be connected to Google account to see analytics on plugin pages, is that correct?

    a. Is this proper instruction to achieve result?
Or there is other instruction about what you say?

    2. In case i have few hundreds of admins:

    a. i must add all emails to my own account? (as described in instruction above)
    Or
    b. They all must create google account then associate their company emails with google and i must add all the email to google analytics account ?
    Or
    c. They must register with company email in Google by they own? (and after that i must add them to analytics or by instruction 1.a )

    Which is correct and why?

    3. In case admin use not exiting email ([email protected]) he won’t be able to have access to analytics data?

In case there is just one admin – plugin works as expected. But in my case this is horrible experience =))

    Hope for undestanding.

Other plugins dont have such problem in meaning setup don’t depends on other admins emails (plugins use API or token – doesn’t’ matter) – one setup is enough, and don’t needed to add emails to goole analytics or other service accounts (in meaning sharing acces through Google services)

    Many thanks

They must register with company email in Google by they own? (and after that i must add them to analytics or by instruction 1.a )

Yes you are right. First of all WordPress administrators must sign-in with their own Google account. Those accounts(by adding emails to the parent Analytics dashboard) must have access to the associated properties of each connected services.

As for sharing access to the WP users without Site Kit setup there is a GitHub issue which describes all that why we have the plugin setup that way.

Thanks for sharing github – now i understand that situation is two year going and no proper decision of what users really need.

This situation just make impossible to setup this plugin and use it full potential on powerful large-scale projects. Site-kit is good for small projects, but not satisfy large projects needs.

It must have to be better if it’s Google developers team plugin but it’s not. A bit sad to know that.

Dev Architect of plugin is wrong about its architecture and logic, plugin is weak (meaning business logic and possibilities) in compare with others because of all this difficulty setup and not necessary email dependence

    Thanks for nice explanation.

    Best wishes =)

We are really sorry as our product doesn’t meet your needs. But you’ll surely see major changes in our plugin in future releases & may be that would be the fit as a business solution.

    Have a great day!
