Feeds being pulled in, diagnostics fine, but on automatic pull posts are dropped

We have a multi-site installation and the feeds are being pulled in successfully to one of the sites from the other site’s blog posts. When doing them manually they all come back nicely with no errors. The scheduling is set to twice daily, expiry of 7 days and max items of 20 with no limit to the age of the imported posts.
There are 4 different feeds but we ware finding the posts are being deleted sometimes, others have the post details but no content and previous feed items are deleted.
After having reviewed other support posts I can see there are permutations of this situation, but no resolution presented.
Anyone else having similar issues?
