    Hi there,

I am using Product Feed Pro and upgraded to Elite.

In general it is doing its job. But there are some problems I encountered while setting up a feed.

1.) The feed presets do not match the several feed requirements. I did set up idealo.de and the presets are the same as if I would set it up as a custom feed. There is a documentation from idealo.de which is telling which variables are required. Some are named wrong. Many are missing

2.) It is very timeconsuming to find the right variables for the mapping. There are hundreds of variables provided by wordpress. One would have to map each seperately to see what values a variable will carry – or if it is has any content at all. >> It would be very helpful to have some kind of testpage where you can enter a product id and it will show the content of every variable.

3.) reaching a certain variable is a pain. Would be nice if you could enter a phrase and it would show variables that contain it

4.) I did miss mathematical operations like VarA == VarA / VarB
idealo.de wants to get a price per unit. So I need to divide the article price by article amount and multiply it by the base amount. ATM its only possible to multiply by a fixed value

5.) I did miss some advanced rules like
IF VarA is bigger/smaller/equal VarB THEN VarB == Var A

6.) I did miss something to reorder rules (as the order does matter)

7.) I did miss the option to rename and reorder Variables in the mapping

8.) It would be great to have the option to temporarely deactivate variables, filters and rules

9.) It would be very nice if the feed would support vouchers. (idealo.de does support this. there is one descriptive string and you have to reduce the sale price. ATM it#s possible but you need some dirty hacks)

10.) I did miss the feature to enable a few products only the feed. ATM it is only possible to prevent several ids from listing. It could be done by filter accepting a coma separated list of ids or by providing a blacklist/whitelist dialogue.

Maybe you have solutions for some of these problems. So I would like to see you feedback. If not – maybe some of these points could inspire you for future plugin versions.

    Best regards.

  • Hi,

Our apologies for the late reply, somehow this topic slipped under our radars.

    With regards to your comments:

    • 1. We’d be more than happy to look into the specific Idealo feed requirements to see if we can make a template out of it. Would you be so kind as to share their official feed requirements with us?
    • 2. Yes we agree, a feature like that has been on our to-do list for a while, just not high enough on our priority list ??
    • 3. Related to point 2, we’ll add your suggestion to add an auto-suggest search for it.
    • 4/5. The entire filter and rules feature of our plugin is pretty basic still. More complex AND/OR combinations and using multiple variables in statements is on our list
    • 6/7/8/10. Thanks, these are all very valid wishes so we added them to the user wish list
    • 9. Not entirely sure what it is you want our plugin to do with vouchers. Could you give an example?

Many thanks again for this feedback. It is feedback like this that makes our plugin better!
