Feed not updating: Cron or manually

    Hi,

    About 5 days ago I updated the plugin from v6.x to v10.9.7 (so quite a few major versions missed!) Since then the generated xml file has not been updated.

    Manual:
    – On the “Manage feeds” page
    – I click on the “manually refresh productfeed” button
    – It displays the alert (“Are you sure you want to refresh the product feed?”) and shows “processing (0%)” flashing in the page.
    – The “processing” message doesn’t update (although sometimes when I refresh the page it shows “148%” for some reason ???)
    – The xml file is never updated (checked via FTP – last modified date is the day I updated the plugin)

    Cron:
    – We have set cron to be triggered by WPEngine, and deactivated wp-cron (because it kills site performance)
    – This has always worked fine until the update a few days ago.

    No file permissions have been changed. “Plugin systems check” shows:
    Product feed directory writable True
    Product feed XML directory writable True

    Are there any other settings that have changed between v6 and v10?

    Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

    Did you check the cron hooks present? If so, is there a cron hook named “woosea_cron_hook”? If not, can you try to de-activate and re-activate the plugin as that will reset all cron hooks needed for updating your feeds.

    Thanks for the quick response.

    I tried de-/re-activating the plugin. The “woosea_cron_hook” does appear in the list of Cron events:

    woosea_cron_hook  |  None  |  2021-12-15 16:43:19  |  38 minutes 25 seconds 
|   woosea_create_all_feeds()  |  Once Hourly

    For some reason it always says “Once Hourly” even though the feed settings is “Daily”.

    The XML file is still not being updated.

    I have also run the update manually from the “Manage Feeds” page, as before. For some reason the UI shows flashing “processing (0%)” which then changes to “processing (73%)” and occasionally progresses to “processing (146%)”, but some time later it will be gone. Maybe there is some caching going on that behaves a bit unexpectedly.

    I noticed there is a new version of the plugin: 11.0.2. Might this by any chance have any relevant fixes in it?

    If it’s any help, this is a multisite installation.

    . That is correct as the plugin checks every hour if a feed needs to be updated or not.

    If it’s any help, this is a multisite installation.

    . Which is probably causing the issue at hand as our plugin, unfortunately, does not support WordPress multisite.
