    Hi,

I’ve tried to debug this problem for two days now without progress.

My feeds have works well for a few months now, however I noticed they had stopped working a few days ago.

I tried several things including manually refreshing the feed. It did the usual ‘Processing 0%’ flashing for a few moments, but when refreshing the page it just went back to ‘ready’ and wasn’t actually processing.

So I tried deactivating the feed and reactivating it, however it wouldn’t reactivate (the green slider switch moves across, but doesn’t change anything, and then when refreshing the page it goes back to deactivated state on the slider). I’ve since managed to force it active using the query string to do so, but that hasn’t solved the overall problem.

Then I deactivated/reactivated the plugin (several times at every stage of trying to debug the problem), which didn’t solve the issue.

I’ve tried deactivating several other plugins, including my caching plugin (which excluded the product feed directory from caching anyway), to see if that helped — but no luck there either.

Now I have a completely empty feed and it will not refresh.

I created a new dummy feed to see if it would encounter the same issues and it did (the new feed wouldn’t update, refresh and when deactivated wouldn’t reactivate).

    Some debug info:
    – WP-Cron enabled True
    – PHP-version sufficient True (7.4)
    – Product feed directory writable True
    – Product feed XML directory writable True
    – Product feed CSV directory writable True
    – Product feed TXT directory writable False
    – Product feed TSV directory writable False
    – Product feed LOGS directory writable True
    — I have no product feed entries in any recent fatal errors logs.
    – I have 4572 published products (256 simple products and 4316 variations).

    So…. Please help! ??

  • Good to hear that creating a new feed works.

What you could do it press the copy icon of your originally created feed so you can create a full new feed and do not have to do the configuration all over.

    As per my previous post:

If I duplicate the feed, it runs OK first time and creates the XML feed.

If I create a new feed it runs OK first time and creates the XML feed.

The initial feed looks like it is refreshing, but always resolves to a 404 error instead of the XML feed.

So it can create/duplicate a feed OK, which is great! But my worry is whether it will refresh the feed properly or whether it will reactivate and run if I deactivate it for any reason.

Yes I understand but like mentioned our plugin does not delete product feeds, not even when the feed configuration is deactivated or removed. The product feed itself remains. Hence, it can’t be our plugin that deleted the feed. Something else must have done that. Its impossible for us to tell what caused that.

Anyhow, you can no longer use the original feed. You’ll have to move to a newly created one. We’re positive it will keep refreshing just fine aslong as the feed file itself doesn’t get deleted.

OK, thanks. So I’m at a loss as to what would have deleted the feed. I assumed it got deleted when the feed was deactivated.

In any case, do you have any idea as to why the feeds will not reactivate again after being deactivated?

De-activting and re-activating feeds is an ajax-based technology. Sometimes browsers have troubles with it, especially when there are other JS errors coming from other themes or plugins.

You can forcefully re-activate all feeds by adding &force-active=true to the URL on the manage feeds page. So the URL will then look like this: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=woosea_manage_feed&debug=true
