    Hi,

I have just updated the plugin and am a bit confused. For what I needed, this is getting very very complicated! But I guess this is because others are interested…

Anyway, I have realised that all feed items are being transformed in posts, whereas autopost option is clearly not activated on autopost backoffice page (and strangely enough, no posts are displayed in “manage autoposts” backoffice section.

I have to say that this is a major issue for the site. Thank you for your help.

wollepelz, you are saying you have the AutoPost not activated (on the autopost tab), but when you add a feed, you still get new blog posts in your WordPress Posts tab? Note, when you see that the feed items are entered in the database, this is not the posts database…that only happens if the AutoPost is activated. Please confirm this. Thanks

No, I said that there were many posts created which were posted immediately to Facebook and Twitter.

They also went into my article database and weren’t just posted into my blog because I filtered the category out in which the articles would get if I had it activated.

This saved me a lot of work: It was very easy for me to delete all the articles which shouldn’t suppose to be there. ??

BUT I had to delete all that articles on Twitter and Facebook.

Another problem: The “?” isn’t still displayed wrong.

well, I guess I don’t understand what’s going on…you must be running another plugin that takes your posts on your blog and makes them facebook and twitter posts (my plugin doesn’t do this). If that plugin gets the post from the WordPress post table, then if you have my autoPost turned off, you shouldn’t get anything from an RSS feed in my plugin going into your post table (it only goes into a meta table that your other plugin can’t access).

Yes, <b>I told it before in another thread</b> that I’m runnung another plugin which posts my articles automatically.

I’m sorry that I confused two different threads.

Yes and I shouldn’t get any WordPress articles if the option “auto post” is unchecked. But it happened two times now, that articles were generated.

As said – there were wordpress articles generated so that my other plugin was doing his work: Posting existing articles to Twitter and Facebook. The problem isn’t that the other plugin does his work. The problem is that RSS Multi Importer creates in a uncontrollable (?) way articles although “auto post” is unchecked.

I never switched auto post in that WordPress installation on. I tested the plugin on a test server and decided I do not need that functionality.

The most of the time the plugin does his job very, very, very good and satisfying. Some times the described things happen. I will go on and use this plugin but maybe you can find that piece of “one line code” which is missing or wrong. ??

ok…let me see if I can reproduce this problem – namely, when the autoPost is deactivated it still adds posts..this is a serious bug so I’ll see if this is obviously something in my code.

Also, please go to the diagnostics page and see if it say (when you have AutoPost deactivated) if there is a cron setting saying it’s active..it would look like this:

    https://www.screencast.com/t/UBvuOZLXt

Note, if the AutoPost is deactivated you should see the cron scheduled.

also, along with the above diagnostics, go in the autopost menu and click on the tab that says Manage AutoPosts…if my plugin is actually making posts when deactivated you should see posts in that Manage AutoPost tab – if not, then it’s not my plugin making the posts.

    Everything is like it should.

The diagnostics say that there is no auto post scheduled. Manage auto posts is empty because I deleted everything after the plugin ran amok. ??

It just happened after an update and adding a feed.

I think we won’t be able to reproduce it. When I added the feed my internet connection was interrupted. So maybe your plugin got corrupted data then – but nvertheless it shouldn’t happen.

I’m just updating during the night time now. So the people are all asleep. ??

ok..well, if there is no auto post scheduled and nothing in the manage posts, then the import posts file cannot run…you can verify this for yourself by going to the AutoPost tab and clicking Fetch Feeds Now (with the autopost deactivated) and you’ll get a message that says nothing ran because it can’t if it’s deactivated…thus, it is possible that there was corrupted data.

Maybe it would help if one more check is inserted if “auto post” is set.
But I’m not familiar with your code.

So it is wild guessing. ??

    I’ll add that.
