I’m a beginner with web development, so pardon me if this is a pretty rudimentary question.

But basically, I can’t get this plug-in to work at all.

I keep creating the widget within Twitter, pasting the code into your plugin, which is nestled in my little Sidebar, but two problems are occurring:

    1) No Twitter feed is actually showing on the page where I’ve designated my Twitter sidebar. It shows the Twitter title, so I know it’s seeing the plug-in, but no feed.

    2) When I paste in the entire code from the Twitter widget (into the ‘Twitter Widget ID’ field,) it renders onscreen as ‘Tweets by @westsideimpact’, but when I click on it, it takes me to an entirely different Twitter account: Twitter API.

I’m very confused. I’m using the damojo Themetastic theme. Again, my apologies if this isn’t clear or if this is an extremely rudimentary problem. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • I’m having the same issue. I’ve Tweeted it to the developers. Hopefully we’ll get a resolution soon as this widget method has the exact features I need.

p.s. Just curious, Miguel. Are you using the Themetastic theme?

    No, Backstreet.

    Hi to all,

We have re-tested this plugin and it is working fine. Please make sure that you are following the Installation instructions properly.

    TIPS:

    • Try to test our plugin on the default theme e.g. Twenty Fourteen to check its health
    • Try to disable all other plugins except this to check possible conflict

    Thanks

Please make sure the following step as well,

Go to Appearance > Easy Twitter Feed Widget Options > Twitter Script Settings > Load Twitter Script > yes

Folks, I was having this problem and what it ended up being, was I’d been manually inserting some twitter scripting elsewhere in the content of affected pages (in one case from a text widget I was showing on the homepage and in another case from a hook I established in functions.php to appear at the top of post entries) causing duplication and confusion.

The solution was to let this plugin be the only one calling the code and stop calling it myself elsewhere in content on the same pages. As soon as I eliminated the extra, duplicate invocations of twitter scripting, all twitter widget objects stopped breaking.

In my case it was my own fault for hacking the code into various places, but in the more routine case I’d think you’ll want to look for this cause coming from your theme and/or from other plugins. It’s helpful to view source of an affected page and see if you can see the javascript twitter widget code being called independently of this plugin’s call, which is accomplished through a .js very close to the bottom of the page source.

I tried several of these fixes and widget wouldn’t show up in preview on twitter configurator page or my site. Duh, realized my DoNotTrack plugin for chrome was blocking the twitter badge. Allowed it and BAM!.. works in both places now.

Hope yours is fixed just as easily!
