Feed Descriptions Showing Latest Post Excerpt

    For some unknown reason, the podcast feed generated for the podcast is showing the Excerpt from the latest post, rather than each individual podcast excerpt. The latest episode is pulling the correct description, but all other episodes are showing the description from today’s blog post. Any idea why this would be happening and how to fix it?

    Thanks for letting us know you are seeing this issue. To help you troubleshoot we have a list of steps to go through to provide additional information to help diagnose where the issue is occurring.

    • Please be sure you are using the current version of the plugin and WordPress.
    • Under Podcast > Settings > Feed Details be sure you have check Use Post Excerpt not Post Content.
    • Try adding a manual excerpt if your theme allows it.

    If the problem still persists try conducting a theme and plugin conflict test to identify if there is a conflict with the SSP plugin and let us know if you are able to isolate the problem so we can take a closer look.

    Thanks Eileen,
    We are using Seriously Simple Podcasting Version 2.5.2 (the latest) and the settings are as you have mentioned here, including using a manual excerpt for all Podcast type posts. In doing a theme and plugin test, it appears to resolve when changing to the default theme. We are using the DIVI theme and page builder. Any advice on this?

    If you’re seeing this resolve when switching to a default theme it might be helpful to reach out to the Divi support team to see if they’ve run into an issue like this or know what might be causing it. Very likely that there’s something they can do on their end to help remedy this.

    I’m having a very similar issue, but it’s not resolved by changing the theme to Twenty Twenty One.
