    Hello

This plugin worked beautifully up until today. The client called and told me that they were seeing an error message – the generic message “Events cannot currently be displayed, sorry! Please check back later.”

I have display both a Gmail calendar specific to the client and the US holidays calendar.

When I logged into the Gmail account to check on the calendar, it forced me into a Google+ upgrade. I went through the upgrade and checked – and the calendar is fine – displays properly.

Went back in and refreshed the cache, now I was getting a new error message the that “feed could not be displayed” and that there was a timeout error on the feeds. The generic error message “check back later” is no longer displaying.

Here are the settings I am using:
    Retrieve Events From: 00:00 Today
Retrieve Events Until: The End of Time
Max number of events to retrieve: 175

After the problems started, here are some of the things I tried:
    –Updated WP to 3.6.1
    –Updated the plugin
    –Refreshed the cache
–Tried the feed address with both https: and http:
–Copied and pasted the feed address from the (working) Google calendar
–Made sure I selected XML feed as the option
–Logged in to my Gmail account and verified that the calendar is working, public, and set to “see all events”

As I said, it was working as of a few days ago. No one has access to the admin functions except me and I made no changes prior to the problem arising.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello,

The calendar appears to be displaying correctly for me on that page at the moment.

A timeout error would suggest that your web server is unable to retrieve data from Google’s servers, which could be due to many things, but perhaps (as it appears to be working now?) it is / was a temporary issue with your hosting provider.

If you don’t think this is the case, and you’re still having problems, let me know.

Weirdly, I just went back in to look and you’re right – it’s working again. The pages had been loading ve-e-r-r-y slowly (upwards of 45 seconds for a light page) so I b(*tched at the hosting company.

Something got kicked in the rear and now it’s all set again. Thanks for your response. Your plugin is a much more elegant solution than the raw Google calendar.
